My name is Cher Perry and I am extremely excited to embark upon my new role here at Hope Charter Leadership Academy as the Instructional Curriculum Specialist and Testing Coordinator. I was born in California and raised in Virginia. I received my Bachelor’s degree from Elizabeth City State University---Go Vikings! That is where I met my wonderful husband for whom I have been married to for 15 fantastic years. I have two wonderful boys who keep me very active with their love for sports. I am currently attending Gardner-Webb University to receive my Masters in School Administration. In my spare time I like to read, work with crafts, and tend to my flower and vegetable garden. I taught in Virginia for 3 years then made Raleigh my home in 2001. While in Raleigh, I previously taught for Wake County Public Schools for 12 years and then joined the Hope staff in 2013. I initially started at Hope as a third grade teacher and have enjoyed aiding students in achieving success within the classroom. As my desire to make high quality instruction for all students in EVERY classroom increased, I decided to step outside the classroom to work towards achieving my goal. This decision has afforded me the opportunity to support Hope’s instructional teachers in providing high quality appropriate instruction within their classrooms. This support includes assisting in building their teaching skills and applying new knowledge, providing ongoing professional development, utilizing data to drive instruction, and designing instruction aimed at meeting students’ specific learning needs. I am enjoying building relationships and making an impact with the students and staff members here at Hope Charter Leadership Academy and I look forward to another great year!
