Computer Lab

The Vision
Hope Elementary Charter School will provide a nurturing environment in which technology is seamlessly integrated into the instructional curriculum in developmentally appropriate ways on a daily basis to enhance and support student learning. Technology will be routinely used as a tool to promote teacher, staff, and administrator productivity and effectiveness.
Personal Statement
Dawnn Breynae, Technology Facilitator
dbreynae@hopecharterschool.org
I hold an undergraduate degree in the area of Communications with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism from North Carolina State University (Go Wolfpack!). In 2006, I graduated with the baccalaureate honor of magna cum laude from North Carolina Central University, earning a Master of Arts degree in Educational Technology.
I have been connected with the Hope family for over ten years; initially serving as the Youth Director for Building Together Inc., the nonprofit organization that founded the school and now as the Technology Facilitator for the school. A major part of my job is to make sure students learn grade appropriate computer skills as outlined in the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. Routinely, I consult with teachers to explore and implement creative ways to integrate the use of technology with their assignments. As a result students receive an educational experience that goes beyond the classroom walls.
In an effort to ensure that our students will be academically competitive when they transition to other schools, I consult with my colleagues throughout North Carolina and attend workshops that keep me on the cutting edge of technology strategies being utilized throughout the state. It is my goal that by the time students complete their fifth grade year at Hope Elementary Charter School, they will understand the routine use of technology as a tool for functioning in today’s information-intensive society. When our Hope Eagles leave our school, they will have a more global understanding of the world, thanks to the Internet and their interaction with various multi-media tools.
