Dear Parents:

Welcome back to the second quarter.  This is the one that goes very quickly.

We are closed Friday, November 11^th in observance of Veterans’ Day.

School picture day is November 18^th.

The PTO Fall Event is November 18^th.

Then we close on Tuesday, November 22^nd at 11:00 for Thanksgiving and remain closed until Monday, November 28^th.

We have a half day on December 2^nd for staff in service.  Student dismissal is at 11:00.

Finally we have our Awards Assembly on December 21^st.  Student dismissal is at 11:00.

The Holiday break starts on December 23^rd.

Our track out begins on January 2^nd.  School reopens on January 17^th.

Meanwhile teachers and staff members are working very hard with your children on meeting their academic needs.  We want school to be a positive experience for all.  I encourage you to come to visit our school any day to see a totally focused, encouraging and success oriented place.  We believe we are well on the road for a year where our students grow and learn and progress.

You can still be of great help to us by making sure:

-       your child has completed his/her homework

-       your child has a good night’s sleep

-       your child has a good, healthy breakfast

-       your child is here on time and in correct uniform

I strongly encourage you to take some time each evening to read with and to your child.  We know that one of the keys to success is being read to as well as reading.  Even our fourth and fifth graders love to be read to!

Let’s continue to work together.  The past quarter was incredible.  Let’s make this one even better.  Thanks for all you do.
