Dear Parents:
Welcome back! We are happy to be back and are looking forward to a very productive quarter. This is a very important time for instruction and we will be relying heavily upon your support as we move through the rest of January, February and March.
The next 10 weeks are prime instructional time. Teachers will be introducing, reinforcing and enriching a tremendous amount of material during this quarter. In order for our students to be successful on their End of Grade tests, and more importantly, in order for our students to be successful in life they need to be here everyday and to be on time.
Attendance patterns are formed early on in one’s life. A student that does not report to school on time daily often follows a pattern of tardiness and absence throughout their life. Obviously, we cannot teach those that are not here. Students cannot learn when they are not in school. Arriving late regularly is also disruptive and does not allow for students to get off on the right foot immediately. We begin at 8:00 every morning. Please make every effort to have your children here so that we can do our jobs and so they can succeed!!
Homework assignments may also increase during this quarter. The material being taught is harder and homework is a great reinforcement. Please work nightly with your children on making sure their homework is completed and that they understand the work being asked of them to complete.
We greatly appreciate your encouragement and support. We truly need your help as we enter the second half of this year. Let us know whatever it is we can do if you need assistance.
